Sequence Tuning: Match Your Outreach Effort to the Prospect Score

You cannot run deep, personalized outreach on a thousand people. You would never finish. So you reserve that effort for the people who actually have a reason to buy right now, and you let a score tell you who those people are. Most reps do outreach the same way: build a list and work down it. No prioritization, templated messages, no idea who is likely to reply. Scoring changes that. When an agent has researched every prospect and ranked them by how likely they are to care about your offer, you can tune each sequence to the level the prospect actually warrants. We call that sequence tuning, and here is how our own team runs it. ## Below 60: build familiarity, spend nothing These prospects are still in your ICP, but the research did not surface anything urgent. There is no specific "why now." So they get a few non-personalized emails spread over a couple of months. The goal is slow brand familiarity in case something changes for them later. Effort from the rep: essentially zero. ## 60 to 84: light personalization at the account level Here the research usually found one or two signals that could trigger a need. Real reasons to talk, but nothing that signals urgency. These get a short sequence, roughly five steps across email and LinkedIn, no cold calls. You work from a template and personalize lightly around the signals that showed up. Effort: five to ten minutes per prospect. ## 85 and up: the full multichannel effort At this level the agent is telling you this is not just another name on the list.
